CA Day 2021
Chartered Accountants'(CA) Day is celebrated on July 1 every year to commemorate the establishment of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), one of the oldest professional institutes in the country. Established in 1949 by the Parliament of India, ICAI is the second largest accounting and a statutory body in the world and India’s national professional accounting body.
CA Day is celebrated annually to honour more than 2.5 lakh members of ICAI and chartered accountants across the globe. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended their greetings on the occasion of CA Day.
History of CA Day:
In India, the accounting profession remained unregulated till 1948. In the same year, an expert committee suggested the formation of an autonomous body and the Chartered Accountant Act in 1949.
The ICAI was established on 1 July, 1949 to regulate the accounting laws in India
