CHAPTER – 7
EXERCISE – 7.1
Q1. Complete the following statements:
(a) Two lines segments are congruent if _They have the same length_________.
(b) Among two congruent angles, one has a measure of 700; the measures of the other angle is __700________.
(c) When we write Angle A = Angle B , we actually mean__m Angle A = m Angle B________
Q2. Give any two real – life examples for congruent shapes.
SOLUTION:-
The two real – life examples for congruent shapes are,
(i) Fan feathers of same brand.
(ii) Size of chocolates in the same brand.
Q3. If ΔABC ≈ΔFED under the correspondence ABC <-> FED , write all the corresponding congruent parts of the triangles.
SOLUTION:-
Two triangles are congruent If pairs of corresponding sides and corresponding angles are equal.
All the corresponding congruent parts of the triangles are,
Angle A <-> Angle F , Angle B <-> Angle E , Angle C , <-> Angle D
Correspondence between sides;
AB <-> FE
BC <-> ED
CA <-> DF
Q4. If ΔDEF ≈ΔBCA, write the part(s) of ΔBCA that correspond to
(i) Angle E
(ii) EF
(iii) Angle F
(iv) DF
SOLUTION:-
From above the figure we can say that,
The part(s) of ΔBCA that correspond to,
(i) Angle E <-> Angle C
(ii) EF <-> CA
(iii) Angle F <-> Angle A
(iv) DF <-> BA
