The pace of corona infection in India is becoming uncontrollable. In the last 24 hours, 1.84 lakh new cases of corona infection have been reported. This is the reason that the demand for cancellation, postponement or online holding of CBSE board exams to be held from May 4 in the country is increasing.First examiners, parents and teachers demanded postponement of the examinations. Subsequently, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Rahul Gandhi, actor Sonu Sood, Maharashtra Board, Shiv Sena officer Arvind Sawant and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have also come out in support of it. Now Prime Minister Narendra Modi is meeting with the Education Minister on this issue.

Priyanka Gandhi tweeted on this decision of the government and said, Glad that the government has finally canceled the 10th class board exams, but the final decision should also be taken soon for class 12th. There is no point in placing students under undue pressure until June. This is not right. I urge the government to take a decision on the twelfth board examination soon.

There was a demand for cancellation of board examinations on 6 April

On April 6, the demand for cancellation of Central Board of Secondary Education examinations was raised across the country due to more than 93,249 new cases of corona infection in one day in the country. A campaign was launched on Twitter with the ‘Hashtag Cancell Board Exam 2021’. An appeal was also made to gather near India Gate on April 10 to reach the Government of India demanding cancellation of the board examination.

Permission was given to conduct practical examinations in three shifts only on 22 March.

In order to maintain sufficient distance between the candidates and to finish the practical examinations at the earliest, the CBSE had allowed the 10th and 12th practical examinations to be conducted in three shifts. This permission was granted by CBSE after the request of the schools.
