What is Import of Goods ?

According to Customs Act 1962 section 2(26 ) define the term Import this provision read as follow ‘Import” with is grammatical variations and cognate expression means bringing into India from a place outside India.

Import of goods or services form another country will be treated as interstate supply and igst will be levied on such suppliers as per IGST Act,2017 read with Customs Tarif Act,1975.

In other word import means any goods or services purchase from other country and use such goods or service in India.
