Triangle of Sadness
Ruben Stlund wrote and directed Triangle of Sadness, a satirical black comedy, for his first English-language feature film. Vicki Berlin, Woody Harrelson, Harris Dickinson, Charlbi Dean, Dolly de Leon, Zlatko Buri, Henrik Dorsin, and Dolly de Leon all appear as characters in the film.

Triangle of Sadness made its international debut on May 21, 2022, at the Cannes Film Festival, where it received an eight-minute standing ovation. It was then released in France on September 28, in the US and Sweden on October 7, in Germany on October 13, and in the UK on October 28.
De Leon’s performance was praised worldwide and earned her her first Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations for her supporting role. The movie garnered generally favourable reviews. Additionally, it was nominated for three awards at the 95th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and won four European Film Awards, including the prize for Best Film.
After The Square won the Palme d’Or at the 70th Cannes Film Festival the prior month, filmmaker Ruben stlund announced Triangle of Sadness in June 2017. According to him, the movie would be titled Triangle of Sadness and would be a “wild” parody about the super-rich and the fashion industry with the underlying themes of “appearance as capital” and “beauty as cash.”
Triangle of Sadness had its Cannes Film Festival premiere on May 21, 2022, and on May 28, 2022, it was awarded the festival’s Palme d’Or. It had its North American premiere on September 8 at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, where it was an official selection, and the 2022 New York Film Festival (1 October).
Triangle of Sadness has a worldwide gross of $21.8 million as of January 19, 2023, after earning $4.2 million in the United States and Canada and $17.6 million in other countries. Triangle of Sadness had ten US theatre openings in Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco, grossing a total of $210,074, or an average of $21,007. It made $657,051 during the course of its second weekend on 31 screens. It earned $600,000 on 280 screens in its third weekend, placing tenth at the box office. It made $548,999 during the course of its fourth weekend on 610 screens.
